Quade and Marianne met for the first time in the summer of 2009 at a friend's house shortly after Marianne found herself living in Quade's home town of Fortuna, California. They became fast friends with many shared interests (music taste especially) and would stay up late watching Malcom in the Middle in Quade's parents basement. In 2010, Q&M professed crushes on each other during a weekend getaway at Nana & Papa's summer home. Marianne got freaked out a couple months in and ended up ghosting Quade like nobody's business. Luckily, they stayed in touch through Facebook and the local music scene. Fast forward to 2015 when Marianne saw Quade post on Facebook about breaking up with his girlfriend at the time; and she swooped in. They decided to hang out that day and caught up with each other while watching funny YouTube videos, leading into the night of a foot-to-foot sleepover on a friends couch. Q&M became "official" 8 years before their wedding date and the adventures (and road trips) haven't stopped since.

On the way to the Alienstock festival being held at Area 51, Q&M were camping out of the back of the truck (as they do regularly) staying in a state park just north of Yosemite. Q asked M if she wanted to go on a hike in the morning which M was hesitant because of the cold, but she sucked it up and they set out on a short hike. They arrived at the end of the path, and M started reading the information board provided by the park. When she turned around Q was on bended knee and popped the question. Covid put a real damper on the wedding plans, but this year we decided it's now or never!
